It’s PokerStars 10th Anniversary! The world’s most popular poker site is 10 years old, and to celebrate this historic occasion, PokerStars is celebrating by holding a series of 10 different promotions and events from now until December 18. In total more than $10 million will be awarded, with the first two events already announced.

The first, which is already under way, is the 10th Anniversary Giveaway, which will award 100 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure packages to players who qualify for the weekly finals through freerolls that take place every 10 minutes on PokerStars.

Also announced is the $10 million Sunday Million, which is the largest guarantee ever for the online poker world’s richest weekly tournament, and is guaranteeing $2 million for first place. That event takes place on December 18 and online satellites to qualify into the event have already begun.

Sunday Majors
This week’s Sunday Warm-Up garnered 3,267 runners, which made for a prize pool of $653,400 – way beyond the $500k guarantee. The winner emerged after nearly 12 hours, with ‘Pokerfred99’ from Germany taking the title for $102,584.70.

Meanwhile, the world’s richest weekly online tournament, the Sunday Million, saw the $1m guarantee smashed as 7,063 players registered to create a prize pool of $1,412,600. There was a four-way chop at the final table, but it was ‘Kipu’ from the United Kingdom who went on to take the title and adjusted first place prize of $190,000.

Road to 100 Billion
The 70-billionth hand promotion is in full swing and PokerStars has already given away more than $500,000 in regular milestone hand bonuses. The Mega Milestone 70-billionth hand is set to hit tomorrow morning, where one person will walk away with at least $70,000 for winning the final hand of the promotion.

EPT Copenhagen
An ever present on the European Poker Tour, the Copenhagen stop has been announced once again as the Season 8 schedule continues to grow. The Danish event has been scheduled to take place from February 20-25, 2012, with the DKK 37,250 Main Event providing the focal attraction for international poker players from all over the world.

EPT San Remo
The fourth event of EPT Season 8 ended last Thursday, and it saw Russian player Andrey Pateychuk emerge the victor from the starting field of 837 players, to pocket the first prize of €680,000. He defeated Bulgarian player Dimitar Danchev heads-up to win the title.

Other notable players at the final table included veteran British pro Barny Boatman, who enjoyed his biggest ever pay day of €225,000 for coming fourth, and Kevin ‘ImaLuckSac’ MacPhee, who finished eighth. For a full report on the event, check out the PokerStars Blog.

EPT Loutraki
The tour now moves on to the fifth stop of Season 8 and the inaugural EPT Loutraki. This is the first time the EPT has ventured to Greece, with the event set to take place at the Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, located just outside Athens, from November 14-20.

The Main Event – a €4,000 + €400 NL Hold’em tourney – takes place from November 15-20 and is expected to attract a host of international stars. Several Team PokerStars players, including Johnny Lodden, Theo Jorgensen, Vanessa Rousso, Eugene Katchalov and Arnaud Mattern are already confirmed, with Liv Boeree and Jonathan Duhamel also expected to attend.

EPT Player of the Year
With four events down, the EPT Player of the Year leaderboard is starting to take shape. Leader at this stage is Chilean pro Nick Yunis, who has amassed 1,625 points following a cash finish in the EPT San Remo Main Event, a runner-up finish in London, and fifth- and third-place results in side events at Barcelona. In second place is German pro Philipp Gruissem on 1,385 points, who won back-to-back High Roller events in Barcelona and London, while third spot is occupied by Welsh player Roberto Romanello, who has 1,280 points.

Russian Ivan Kudryavstev retains the top spot in the Best Omaha Player ranking, while Team Pro David Williams leads the race in the Mixed Games category. French player Yorane Kerignard leads the Online Qualifier category, while the Best EPT Country ranking is currently being led by Spain.

PokerStars Women at the PCA
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is now just two months away and satellites are under way for ladies to win a package to the Bahamas for free! The ladies-only event at the PCA will take place from January 12-14, and will be attended by Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree and Vanessa Rousso among others.

Daily freerolls to win a $3,250 package to the event at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island are now running on and continue until December 31. The package includes three nights’ luxury accommodation at the resort, $1,000 expenses and entry into the $1,100 Women’s event.
